What is Dementia?

 

Dementia is defined as the loss of or decline in memory and other cognitive abilities.  It is caused by various diseases and conditions that result in damaged brain cells.

 

The Research

 

According to research, in 2010 over 86,000 Maryland  senior citizens are resported to have some form of dementia.


Helpful Tips to Improve Your MEMORY

  • Write all appointments on a large calendar.
  • Become an active reader.
  • Eat a balance diet full of vegetables, grains, and fruits.
  • Get a good night's sleep.
  • Keep your brain active by doing puzzles and games.
  • Exercise regularly.
